crafty? Not tonight.
I thought that my trial run in sewing would carry over into tonight, but it didn’t. I had an exceptionally bad day at work, and it’s kind of rubbed off on everything around me.
I went to ceramics class, but only to chat with the ladies. I haven’t painted anything (besides the kitchen) since before Christmas.
I’ve taken my scraps of material that I “tested” on yesterday to show everyone. People are impressed that I can sew in a straight line. If only I could sew something real. But I don’t know what to start on first. Dog beds? Tote bags? Hems? (I have a few pairs of pants that could use hemming….) Or something completely different? I do want to make new curtains….
So I’m praying for a great Wednesday and hoping that will put me in the sewing mood. I need to be in the sewing mood.
Hi Jaime: Did you get a “new” sewing machine?? Take your time on your projects. Throw pillows would be a good place start to start.
When you begin curtains, make sure the rod pockets are large enough for whatever rod you use. You have no ideas haw many panels I made with too small pockets. You’ll feel sooo accomplished when you hang up your 1st pair. Love ya, Aunt Linda
I actually traded a heater in on a sewing machine. I’ve never had a sewing machine before and we figured out that our heat vents were taped shut in the rec room, so we didn’t really need the extra heater. The sewing machine is way more fun too!
Curtains definitely might be my first project. Or the dog beds. They’re more like oversized pillows anyway š And Oliver and Sophie need a place to sleep when they come over!
That’s great!!! You’ll find lots of ways to put it to good use…
