cupcake kind of day
It’s Friday, and I’ve somehow managed to be on time – if not 30 minutes or more early – to work every day. This is quite an accomplishment for me. The person who can’t seem to leave the house before 8:30 or 9 on any given day of the week. But, this week? It’s been pretty awesome.
The weather is pretty perfect today – and will be close to perfect tomorrow. Upper 70s today, lower 70s tomorrow. I’ll take it over the dusting (or 10 inches) of snow any day! I’m ready to get out in the yard and do something – within reason, of course.
My boss and I took a walk at lunchtime. I knew it would be quite the chore to go back into our work building after experiencing the sunshine and warmth. (Oh, did I not mention I’m still wearing a long-sleeved shirt? Because I am. Because my office is still about 30 degrees cooler than the outdoors.)
After lunch with a friend yesterday, we tried to find cupcakes. Not many people sell cupcakes in downtown Asheville, so we abandoned our search pretty quickly. Today, though, I knew I had to take Stacey into the heart of downtown for cupcakes.
Rows of cupcakes and cookies (from Sisters McMullen).
And the one I selected:
Yum.
Tonight we rounded out the perfect day with a great dinner from Corner Kitchen (we had a Groupon.)
If the rest of the weekend goes as well as today went, then I have nothing to complain about.
yum!
looks like this good weather is supposed to hold out all week.
Warm weather & a cupcake? Sounds perfect.
