10. 2. 9.

10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. are the times that cravings are most likely to hit me. Some most days it is chocolate I’m wanting. Sometimes I just want something salty.

Throw a workout into the middle of my day and my cravings are off the chart. Why do our bodies try to punish us with cravings when we’ve worked so hard to burn the calories?

I have a love-hate relationship with sugar. I love eating it. I hate the weight I gain from it. I crave it. It’s truly an addiction.

I received MealEnders to try out last month and they happened to arrive while I had the flu. They are designed to help reduce cravings and in the moment I received them in the mail, I didn’t really need a lot to help curb my appetite.

Fast forward to last week, and my weight was back to “normal” (read: above what it should be) and I was ready to give these a try.

They come in 4 flavors. Mocha, Citrus, Chocolate Mint and Cinnamon. I knew I wanted to try the Chocolate Mint and Cinnamon right away. My fear was I was going to want to eat them like candy. I love sugar. Love, love it. It’s a problem.

With MealEnders, it’s recommended you don’t chew them. You suck on them and let them dissolve. The outside is a little softer (and tastier) and the middle portion is more like a lozenge. They actually leave a tingling feeling on your tongue. This portion was kind of like a signal to my brain that it was time to stop eating. I didn’t need the candy bar or cookies (I really have issues wanting chocolate when I’m working.)

These never made me feel weird or bad. I never felt like I was taking anything “diet.” I was just consuming something that tasted like candy, got me through my craving for something sweet, and served as a reminder that I didn’t need the full size treat (hello cupcakes in our office kitchen! I can avoid you.)

When I remembered to take one of the MealEnders, things went well. I managed to skip over the s’mores cupcakes in our office kitchen. I could avoid certain snack-y foods and I just overall felt better about myself.

Each MealEnders lozenge contains only two grams of sugar, 15 calories and is low-fat, stimulant-free, glutenā€free, kosher, and contains no high fructose corn syrup or MSG. MealEnders are food-based and regulated by the FDA as a food product.

Now is the fun part for you, fair reader! I’ve been given the opportunity to give away a 4-pack of MealEnders in the flavors of Mocha, Citrus, Chocolate Mint and Cinnamon. (And if you don’t want that chocolate mint, I’m happy to take it off your hands!) Enter the Rafflecopter below and a winner will be selected one week from today.

  1. I gave up cane sugar over 7 years ago. I have healed many things just by giving it up and eating healthy. I wonder if the sugar in these are cane sugar or natural sugars?

  2. I would really love to try the mocha flavor first. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway šŸ™‚
