Currently…July 2019
Friends! How in the world is July almost over! Remember when I used to write the 10 Things to Smile About each month? That would be a great post for July, but instead I’ll give you a list of what we’re currently up to.
My husband and I took a trip – without kids! It was the first time we’ve left both kids, or left either one for this length of time (8 days.) The kids went to different grandparents houses, while we flew to Seattle for a week. I shared so many photos on Instagram, and I hope to share a couple of posts after immersing myself in the city.
That said…we’re retraining one of our kids to be our child. It’s been a very trying time as we all learn how to be kids and parents again.
I met Libby in person! I “met” her a couple of years ago on Facebook and then we became friends on Instagram. I love meeting my internet friends in real life. 🙂 She showed us around parts of Seattle, and I had the best time.
I’ve been reading SO MUCH. If you don’t have a Kindle Unlimited membership, you can try it for free. (And that is my affiliate link!) I believe it’s normally a month free, and I snagged their 3-month trial for free this month. If you decide to not continue with the paid membership, it’s so easy to cancel.
One of the best decisions I made before my vacation was to remove my work email from my personal phone. (Yes, I have two phones.) We’re two weeks post-vacation and I never added my work email back to my phone, and it’s nice. I didn’t check email at all over the weekend. (This is not including my blog or personal email accounts. I check those often.) How long has it been since you disconnected from work?
At the end of June, I signed my kids up for swim lessons. My son is so anxious when it comes to swimming, but by his second (private) lesson, he was doing it. on. his. own! I’ve been so, so proud of how far he’s come. I’m debating another round of lessons for him, and private lessons for my daughter. She is fearless and I would love to get her properly trained.
Finally, as part of our Seattle trip, we were in Snoqualmie for a weekend to attend the Twin Peaks Festival. I could NOT get over the Snoqualmie Falls, and I have so much to share from this place! This was taken on our final night as the sun was setting behind us.
How is your July going?
