Currently…March 2017
Time is flying and I’m thankful to have a couple of days off for spring break. I initially had all types of plans for my time off, but I’m definitely scaling back as I realize I can’t do everything and maintain sanity.
I’ve been watching the HGTV app when I run on the treadmill. (If I’m at work, the wifi doesn’t work great for streaming in our fitness center, so I actually will read my Kindle there.) I have so many dreams for our house, which is why I think I love HGTV so much.
Reading…months of magazines that I’m behind on. Oh, and Shannon Stacey released a new book a couple of weeks ago. I read it in a weekend. “What It Takes” is part of the Kowalski series and while it wasn’t my favorite of the series, I still loved seeing where she went with all of past characters.
Running…more consistently! I’m running a 5-mile race with my husband this coming weekend, so I’m hoping that I can handle it! I’ve run 5 miles a couple of times, but I haven’t raced in well over a year.
Wishing…I was back at the beach. I went to Isle of Palms, SC for a work conference last week (and stayed in an amazing beach house.) It was a good conference and our downtime was wonderful.
Working…on our taxes. At least I’ve started them. My biggest problem is I switched laptops in December, and a lot of my tracking is obviously on the old laptop (which is on its last legs.) There was a lot of back and forth, and I think I’m still missing one spreadsheet. Ugh.
Dreaming…of summer vacation. I really want to go on a trip with the family, but I don’t now if it’s in our budget. The husband and I also keep throwing around the Bahamas this weekend. Not sure if it’s the snow or our 10-year anniversary coming up this fall that’s making us think of the Bahamas. Either way, I want to get out of town. And go to a beach. Somewhere.
Eating…more whole foods. I decided to follow the 21-day fix plan again and see how it goes. It worked for me over the summer, and since I’m going to be cutting back on nursing sooner rather than later, I think it can work again. (Once the baby turns 1, I’m going to try to cut out at least one or two nursing sessions. I have enough of a frozen milk stash that she’ll be fine for a while and not have to drink cow’s milk yet.)
Exercising…and while I’m on the subject of 21-day fix, I’m also doing the workout plan. Just one weekend down and my body is SORE. Since I’m not using a trainer right now, I need something to get me using more weights. 21-Day Fix incorporates light weights and I can increase them as needed.
Planning…as much as possible! My planner stays pretty full and now I’m working on birthday party ideas for both kids. (My son – at the moment – wants a Ninja Turtle party in August, so I’m trying to gather supplies now. Or at least, I can add the items to my Amazon wish list.)
What are you up to this month? Have you made summer vacation plans yet?
We’re traveling to Narobi this summer so that’s the biggest thing I’m planning right now.
This month I am making sure my taxes are filed and doing assignments for my doctoral program. Story of my life but I looooooooooove school.
I can’t wait for summer vacation. I NEED to get to the beach. My husband and I started planning our summer vacation, we’re not telling our kids yet.
We are planning epic camping trips for the family this summer! My kids are getting older and this seems like the best way to spend quality time. š
I think we’re going to be planning our first camping trip as a family four. My son and husband are obsessed with camping!
I can definitely understand your wish for a nice summer family vacation. I could use one too. Somewhere with nice beaches would be awesome.
I feel like hGTV is always on in my house. Theres always something good to watch. I feel you on being behind on magazines!
You got lots of exciting things on your plate! We have a tiny vacation planned in the summer but the big one is not until October. Still, something to look forward to right? š
Ahhhhh I’m dreaming of vacation too!!!!! Heck, I just want warmer weather here in NY! I’m over the snow lol
I’m dreaming of a vacation too! But I just started a new job and we get very little time off! I guess I’ll have to settle for local weekend trips š
