Happy March! I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve just chatted. One of the perks of my job is some of the random time off. I’m currently off for spring break (I get days off this week) and I’ve been waiting for these days all semester. Of course, the weather is trying to put a wrench into things with flurries and threat of snow calling off school. (PLEASE let the kids go to school the rest of this week!)

This flower is from last week when it snowed off and on all day long. That weather was worth missing school for, yet the kids had regular schedules. I don’t quite understand. Anyway, this is what I’m currently up to:

Prepping…our kitchen to be painted! I’ve purchased the paint. I’ve patched our wall where the caulk took off the drywall. Now I have to finish sanding and actually paint our kitchen. This has been the longest project, but I think the end result is going to be worth it.

Watching…This is Us. STILL. It took me over two hours to watch an episode the other day, while I folded laundry. I love the show, and I stopped waiting on my husband to watch it with me. I’m on the second season and one day I may be caught up with the rest of the world. Maybe.

Reading…I’m really trying to get caught up on magazines. I have two subscriptions but I don’t seem to make it a priority to read them. SO crazy.

Eating…out only occasionally. We’ve had a few crazy weeks with work and school and everything, and by Friday evening I couldn’t think straight. Thankfully my mom picked up both kids, and I picked the three of them and we went to Favilla’s for dinner. (If you’re local, you must try Favilla’s pizza. I hear they are moving at some point, but I’m not sure when. My family loves them.)

Working out…often! I’m increasing my running and I think I’ve officially started training for my half! I have a couple of local races I’m going to sign up for, to act as training runs. Also I’ve posted videos on Instagram, but I haven’t posted a full review over here of SparkleSkirts! I recently received one and I absolutely love this skirt for running. I don’t chafe when I run more than a mile, it’s super comfortable, and it has lots of pockets to hold EVERYTHING. I’m so excited to wear it for my half marathon in May.

Planning…vacations! I just learned about a cousin’s wedding and I’m hoping we can make a longer trip out of the event. I’m also planning a couple of shorter trips (one conference related, others are family trips.) I need to get passports for the whole family, and that’s a bit nerve-wracking. But necessary. Also I need to decide whether a road trip is feasible for the whole family. My kids will be 2 and almost 7. I’m thinking if I break up the trip, it’s do-able.

Listening…to a lot of Justin Timberlake. I’m obsessed with “Say Something.” SO, so good. Also, podcasts! I have two podcasts now that I download every week – NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” and Young House Love (has a podcast.) They’re both fun and I don’t have to think to much. I tend to laugh a lot on my commute when I listen to them.

Taking time…to let my son time to catch snowflakes on his tongue. Like I mentioned, the snow has been weird lately. One morning we were just running late and it started snowing as we were leaving the house. He was so disappointed there was no snow left that afternoon. So Thursday morning, when it started snowing at 7, I let him spend time outside catching snowflakes. It’s the little things, right?

I have a few fun posts this week including a recipe for a cheddar sausage and white bean stew (in the Crock-pot!) so be on the lookout for those posts. I hope you’re well, and I’ll try not to be so “spewing info” the rest of the month!
