Occasionally, I like to document what I’m currently up to, what I’m loving and what I think others may enjoy. I would love to say that I share these types of posts every month, but they don’t always get done monthly. However, I have thoughts and they need to be shared.
Y’all, I started this post more than a week ago and I’m just now getting back to try to finish it. So much has happened. And rather than get into a lot right this moment I’m going to share tidbits of a few things. First things first, my dad passed away more than a week ago. I haven’t really mentioned what he was going through over the past 16 months, and at some point I may share more. This whole thing has been life consuming – especially over the past 6 weeks – and my head has been on other things.
So we’re currently…
Getting used to the new normal of staying in. With everything that has happened over the past couple of months, we had gone through our freezer foods and most of our pantry items. In January I had challenged us to do an eat-in challenge, so when this past week I realized we might need to have food for a couple of weeks, I started to stress out a bit. We had nothing. Keep in mind, we shop weekly. This time, however, I shopped for two weeks and I’m happy to say the freezer has been restocked, I didn’t panic buy (we’ll eat everything in the next couple of weeks) and I didn’t buy a single roll of toilet paper. š You’re welcome, world.
Our schools are out for two weeks and now I’m working on schedules for both kids. My daughter’s preschool is NOT closed, and I don’t know why. I’m not sending her to school while our son is out of school. I’m working from home for at least a few days and my husband will more than likely be able to work remotely later this week. It’s stressful, but we’re managing and I’m grateful we both have jobs that can be done from home.
Reading…whatever I can get on my Kindle Unlimited subscription. I usually sign up for Kindle Unlimited for a few months. I always get in on a promotion and cancel it for a while. Then when I go back to it a few months later (usually on a subscription), I have even more books at my disposal to read!
Watching…I watched Cheer on Netflix (who hasn’t?) and we’ve been watching the Hillary Clinton documentary this past week. My brother and I also watched some documentary on cat influencers and I want to know how I can get in on THAT job.
I’m also trying not to overreact to the craziness going on in our world.
I’ll have a few posts going up this week, including a meal plan for what I’m cooking while we’re staying away from the public. If we’re not able to safely navigate stores in a week, we may order some groceries through Shipt, and if you’re looking for grocery delivery check them out!
I’m working on a lot today in hopes I can get back into the swing of things. How are you doing right now?
Love you, my friend. These pictures are so special. š
This time, it is so so weird and random. And same here – I was doing a clean-out of the freezer, too! I’m not empty, but I am now doing similar thinking of what to make and when!
It may take me a while but I love your posts like this. xo
