We have just a few weeks left in the school year, and how is May more than halfway over? Time flies when you’re having fun – or when you’re head is spinning from so. much. happening.

Watching…Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I wanted something to download for my trip earlier this month to LA. I searched Netflix, and realized I could download episodes from this show and I LOVE it! I’m over halfway through the first season, but we have a road trip planned this month and I intend on watching more episodes in the car! (I’m also catching up on the Grey’s Anatomy finale, binge-watching the final season of New Girl and trying to catch up on Trading Spaces!) So many shows, so little time.

Reminiscing…with former colleagues at the newspaper. Almost two weeks ago, several of us got together at the old building to take one last walk through and exchange stories. The building has been sold, and while the newspaper will remain there, it’s being renovated and the building as we know it will be no more. I basically grew up in that building. I worked there for a year and a half while I was in college, graduated college, moved out on my own, got engaged, called off a wedding, met my would-be husband, got engaged, got married, bought a house, had my first son – all while working at the newspaper. It was nice to have that time to spend with old friends.

Planning…Our road trip we’re taking next month! We’re heading to upstate NY, crossing the border to Canada for a day and still figuring out our trip back home. My boy is really excited about Canada, while my girl has no clue what is about to happen. Many, many days will be spent in the car and I’m planning activities accordingly.

Running…Almost daily, but not the distances I need to be doing. I ended up backing out of my half marathon (scheduled for this coming weekend) and I’m looking at a summer or fall half to run. I really need to make a plan, stick with it, and get back into the long distance running game.

Recovering…from colds and overall sickness! I’ve been dealing with a cold and allergies for a few weeks, and last week both of my kids were sick (we went to the doctor for my youngest.) It wreaked havoc on our schedules, my husband was out of town for several days, and it was just hard. I’m so glad we’re in a good place this week.

Eating…a lot of chicken. Still. We haven’t quite gotten tired of our weekly chicken meals. I ordered from Zaycon Fresh a few months ago, froze almost 40 pounds of chicken and pre-cook it almost every week. I have another order coming soon. (And you can order with the code CHICKEN2018 and get your order for $.99 a pound!)

Listening…to podcasts two days a week on my drive to/from work. I listen to the Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me from NPR and Young House Love Has a Podcast. I highly recommend both. “Wait Wait” makes me laugh, so I listen to it on Mondays. It’s just a fun one to get into.

Waking…early for work AND to watch the royal wedding this past weekend! I love, love, love hearing about the royal family and I remember watching parts of William & Kate’s wedding a few short years ago. It was so fun watching more of the festivities this time around and I can’t get enough of the photos and clips from that day!

Laughing…at my kids. The other night I put my daughter to bed and I heard her say, “night night mommy!” I said, “it’s time to go night night!” (through her door.) Then she said, “ok” before proceeding to sing “mommy, mommy, little star! how I wonder what you are…” That girl. She has such a personality.

Anticipating…the end of the school year. I’m so ready for my son to not have school every day. I love the routine, but I think we’re just ready to be out. The struggle is real, and I know summer won’t be easy with our busy schedules, but we. are. ready.

Do you have summer vacation plans made or in the works?
