Day 4 of Thanks… Voting #NaBloPoMo #30DaysOfThanks
Day 4: I’m thankful for democracy – and my freedom to vote. Today is election day and while it isn’t a presidential election year, I still think voting for our local and state officials is important.
We’ve taken our son the past few years to the polls. Our polling place is just up the street from us (literally) and with the longish hours, it’s generally easy to take him after we get off work. This year, I’m stopping to vote on my way home from work, so he won’t go with me, but I’ll be sure to give him my sticker.
(Also, I’m thankful that after today the election ads will disappear from our televisions for a long, long time. And I won’t have to change the channels so my son can watch the commercials. Seriously. Some of those ads are downright MEAN.)
I am SO thankful that the political ads will be finished! I’ve always taken the kids to vote, too. It’s a little more hassle, but I think it’s good for them to see the process.
It will be really nice to watch tv without any political ads tomorrow. I’m excited.
Voting is so very important. I love it when I see people at the polls with their kids with them.
