Day two of the new year.

Thanks to my Timehop app, I know that the toddler was sick last New Year’s Day. Fast forward one year, and he has a nasty cold and I’m developing the same cough.

Lucky us.

Day one of the new year was pretty fantastic (minus the coughing fits, because…you know. Not fun. Or fantastic.) We played a lot, relaxed at home, didn’t spend a dime at a store, watched funny tv (old ‘Friends’ episodes) and played some more. I even re-started reading a book, which I’m notorious for doing.

If yesterday was any indication of how the rest of 2014 will pan out, we are going to have a very good year. Today hasn’t been the worst, but I do feel awful for the kiddo who can’t take any of the hardcore cough syrup (that I could find at our insanely slow/understocked CVS.) I bought a cough medicine for him that’s as natural as they come, and I’m hoping he can get some much-needed rest.

While he napped today, my mom read a book in our living room so I could go for a short-ish run. I got in 3 miles in a decent time. (I also made the run to CVS while she was here.)

Day three of the new year should be so much better, I hope. It’s snowing, and I predict the husband will have a snow day, or at least a snow delay. And maybe if the toddler is feeling/sounding a little better, we can take him out in the snow for at least a few minutes. The boy LOVES his snow.
