Keep guests comfortable with this DIY air freshener

This DIY air freshener calls for 3 ingredients and a spray bottle – so simple! And you can use any scent you prefer of essential oil.

It’s a season of gathering and parties, and even if we aren’t planning the biggest parties, we still have family and friends coming to our house – and I know there’s a need to keep them comfortable! With this easy DIY air freshener and having Scott® ComfortPlus™ Toilet Paper on hand, your guests will feel right at home in your home.

We have several invitations to visit with family and friends over the next few months. Most are holiday-related, and some invites are just because the timing is best. And we’ll have friends visiting us – and I like to make sure that everyone is comfortable in our space. Especially the bathroom space.

With two kids in the home, it can sometimes be tough to keep things tidy, but also have items accessible. We are rarely short on toilet paper in our home – especially when we’re buying the large packs at Family Dollar. But rather than stash all of the extra rolls under the sink, I try to keep some out – yet organized – so we all have easy access to it. I have a pretty basket that is perfect for 6 extra rolls of Scott® ComfortPlus™ Toilet Paper, plus a bottle of air freshener to rest on top.

Air freshener is a must when it comes to bathroom supplies. I do love a good winter/holiday scent right now, but I love citrus scents more than anything. And this air freshener takes just a minute to make and you most likely have most of the items on hand.

This DIY air freshener is made with three ingredients and will keep you and your guests comfortable!

What you need:

1 spray bottle
3/4 cup of water
2 tbsp. rubbing alcohol
15-20 drops of your favorite essential oil. In this case, I used grapefruit.

Mix everything together in your spray bottle. A little goes a long way and smells so good! Also, the spray won’t leave a residue on counter tops or other objects.

I realized over the weekend we have a brand new Family Dollar in our neighborhood. It’s closer than my normal store and it was so fun shopping in a brand new store! I could stock up on Scott® ComfortPlus™ Toilet Paper 24 CT Big Roll and smaller items that I might need in my house. My kids always need bath items to keep them entertained, and I like buying holiday household items when I find them at a great price.

The Scott® ComfortPlus™ Toilet Paper is 5-in-1, meaning it is soft, strong, thick, absorbent and clog-free. We’ve been using Scott Extra Soft for years, and the ComfortPlus replaces the Extra Soft.

Check out the Family Dollar circular to find Scott® ComfortPlus™ Toilet Paper 24 CT Big Roll on sale for $7.95 at Family Dollar from November 18-25. (Regular retail price is $10.)

I really like this idea – because in general air fresheners are so awful that I hate having them. Even when they’re needed!

I love the recipe for the homemade air freshener. I’m really sensitive to a lot of the store-bought brands and I have quit buying them, even though there are times I need them. I can’t wait to make this and give it a try. Thank you!
