How to make Cuticle Cream with essential oils and coconut oil
A few years ago, I started using cuticle cream. I loved the kind I bought, but it was pretty pricey and it’s tough to find it. Since I started using essential oils (mostly diffusing them), I’ve been trying my hand (no pun intended) at making various products – like this headache bath bomb and now this DIY Cuticle Cream with coconut oil and essential oils! Homemade cuticle cream doesn’t have to be difficult to make, and you can switch up the scents based on the oils you use. (While I prefer Young Living, I also really like Rocky Mountain Oils – I was introduced to their oils at Mom 2.0 this year. I also have friends who love NOW essential oils – which I have linked below.)
And just fair warning – some of the links here are affiliate links. If you purchase the products, I may receive a small commission from the purchase.
What you need:
1 Tablespoon shea butter – shredded
1 Tablespoon coconut oil
1 Tablespoon beeswax pellets
3 Tablespoons almond oil
8 drops orange essential oil
8 drops lavender essential oil
Cosmetic jar(s)
How to make the cuticle cream:
Add all of the ingredients into a small microwave bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds or until completely melted and smooth. Remove from microwave and stir well.
Immediately pour into your preferred cosmetic jar (it will solidify quickly).
How to use the cuticle cream:
Using cuticle cream regularly to help keep your cuticles and nail folds healthy. Simply apply the cream to each nail cuticle and around the nail tips. Massage for 20-30 seconds and push back each cuticle with a manicure stick. Use warm soapy water to remove excess cream.
I’m even hoping I can get my act together and make several jars for gifts. I think I could make a whole spa in a bag for my kids’ teachers and caregivers (I stocked up on some bags during the last Thirty One outlet sale!)
