Apples are a big theme in our house. Apples, applesauce, apple juice. My son loves the individual containers of applesauce and usually if given a choice of a treat, he’ll request apples or applesauce. I keep applesauce on hand for when his friends come to visit, just to be sure I have a healthy snack for the kids. Mott’s makes it easy for me with their individual applesauce packs.

I like to celebrate events in our household, even if that “event” is just your average play date. I also happen to think Minions are super adorable. When I saw the specially packaged Mott’s products at my local Food Lion, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to create a fun tag to be used at one of my son’s parties or play dates. (We just celebrated his last day of daycare, and applesauce was such a better treat than cupcakes!)

I made several cute Minion inspired tags to go along with the applesauce and juice bottles.

These tags can be glued to the tops of the applesauce containers, or used as gift tags if you’re doing a Minions party theme. (Wouldn’t Minions make a fun theme??)

What you need:
Yellow card stock
2 inch paper punch (or a circle template of two inches)
Googly eyes!
Silver and black markers
Glue

I punched the card stock with my paper punch. I then traced around the googly eyes with the silver pen, and colored a little inside the circle so no yellow was showing. (This creates the glasses frames.) I used the black pen to finish the glasses.

The googly eyes were glued on (just one dab of glue is needed!) and centered in the silver circles. A few of my minions received sprigs of hair.

You could go with a 3-inch circle and it would fill up most of the top of the applesauce containers. The 2-inch circle fits perfectly in the center, and leaves space for their overalls to show. This size also makes a great gift tag if you want to write a child’s name on the back. (Just poke a hole in the top of the circle and tie with something such as baker’s twine.)

The tags were also a lot of fun on our bottles of apple juice.

Right now – and through July 31 – you can find specially packaged Mott’s products in your local Food Lion. Through June 30, buy any (2) two Mott’s 64oz or 6-pack Juice products and get a FREE 6-pack of Mott’s Applesauce. As part of the Minions promotion, Mott’s is releasing three Minions-approved products! Through July 31, be sure to try Strawberry BA-NA-NA applesauce (in pouches!), Tropical BA-NA-NA applesauce and Tropical BA-NA-NA juice drink.

Are you ready for this summer’s Minions invasion? Which Mott’s products do you want to stock up on for more fun like this?
