Dole pineapple plantation

Day 5 (March 29) we set out to see pineapples and the North Shore. What I haven’t mentioned much is the food we ate that week (besides what I posted last night from our fancy dinner.) Every morning, pineapple was a part of my breakfast. I often ate about a quarter to half of a pineapple after I ran. Add a side of bacon, and I was set. I miss the daily dose of pineapple. I got some at Earth Fare last week, but it wasn’t quite the same.

That Monday was chilly, rainy and cloudy when it wasn’t raining. Not idea for venturing outside the car (or the hotel) but we made the most of it.

The Dole plantation was a major tourist trap, but it was fun to check out the gift shop, grab a pineapple ice cream cone or smoothie and look at the pineapples growing all around – without paying the fee to take the grand tour.

A few pictures from our morning there:

Who knew pineapples came in other colors?

And I posed beside them for a size comparison – they were small!

The Hawaiians were always so nice.

I was the only one to see the cutouts. My brother took this photo.

Tomorrow, I’ll try to post the photos from the Lost set (in honor of the all new episode of Lost tomorrow night!)
