I’m here! I’m alive! I’m coming out of my fog.
The lack of blogging makes me sad. For real. I’ve been so busy this week and out of town, and I haven’t opened my laptop in days. It’s been a little nuts (and so unlike me.)
I went a little stir-crazy in the exercise department this week. I stayed at hotels that didn’t have safe places outside to run (next to an interstate isn’t safe.) Today I went out for a 3-mile run and ended up on a high note at 4 miles. It felt good to be back outside again.
This trip was the longest I’ve been away from Lucas, and today he let it known that he was not happy with me. He was a mess. By bedtime I felt like we were getting back on track (he was letting me read, not screaming/crying/whining as much.) But today was a mess.
And Lucas has taught Chloe how to knock the screen door so she can get out herself. We’re always telling him not to push on the screen. Today she got out three times – once while I was on my run. We noticed that the screen was broken open and I found her laying in the dirt. Such a bad kitty.
I tried to watch Legally Blonde tonight. My blu ray player wouldn’t play the last 20 minutes of the movie. I was a bit annoyed. (Obviously a first world problem.)
My trip took me to Atlanta, Greenville SC, Charlotte and Raleigh before we arrived back in Asheville yesterday. I think it was successful and I’m so glad that it’s over. I planned 5 alumni events in 4 cities in 4 days. Exhausting. And two of the venues had lost my reservations. One of those venues lost it more than once – even after I called them the night before.
And I have to do that type of trip all over again in November. At least I have a few months before that trip.
The weather has been great this weekend, I see tiny signs of green in my vegetable garden (the lettuce and spinach are starting to come up) and it’s so good to be home.
How is your weekend going?
