Friday 5: Easter and stay-at-home days #Friday5
It’s been some time since I participated in Friday 5! I’m back today because we really have been doing more than hanging out with the cat. 😉
The boy has been learning about Easter at school the past couple of weeks, and it’s been interesting to hear his version. I do appreciate that his teachers haven’t been too graphic, because of the way the kids are SO literal.
Along with learning about Easter, they also had an Easter egg hunt on Wednesday and I haven’t seen Lucas that excited since before Christmas. Or maybe Valentine’s Day. I love the organized activities and parties at his school (even if I do miss the memo sometimes and send things in the wrong days. Now I just try to be early.) There are several Easter egg hunts this weekend, and I’m hoping we can attend at least one! We’ll have to see how the naps work out, and how my body is feeling.
My office threw a small shower for me this week. It was really nice, and we’re getting closer and closer to being ready for the baby’s arrival. The room is almost finished (just need the crib to be put back together – raised and the side put back on.) The car seat has arrived (thanks to awesome friends who sent that to us) and there are plenty of clothes to go around.
My son has today off from preschool, and campus is closed for me, so we’re enjoying a stay at home day. My boy really loves stay at home days. He also loves school days, but the occasional stay-at-home day on a week day is fun for him.
I feel like spring has really arrived. We’ve had a couple of colder days this week, but the daffodils and tulips did not get the memo that winter was trying to linger, so I’m enjoying the scenes on campus and in my yard. I want to get over to Biltmore before the tulips season ends. I’m also having a good time looking at all of the flowers I randomly planted late last fall!
I was at home at lunchtime when I spotted this tulip blooming. LOVE!
Chloe thinks sleeping in the baby’s dresser and clothes would be a good idea.
Cute basket at my shower!
I brought a cupcake home for Lucas and he told me a half dozen times that he really loved the “peanut butter frosting with chocolate cupcake.”
Multiple tulips in my yard!
The chocolate cupcake with peanut better frosting is Mark’s favorite also. I will have to make some for Lucas the next time you come to the lake.
