A friend tipped me off to restaurant.com a few months ago and I looked into the site, but never actually bought anything. Here’s the deal with the site. You enter the zip code you want to find a restaurant in. The site lists the restaurants that have gift certificates available, and you can often buy a $25 gift certificate for $10. Sometimes there are $10 gift certificates for $4 and the prices vary (but the $25 for $10 is a pretty common one.)
Some of the restaurants have restrictions, such as the gift certificate can’t cover alcohol, you can’t combine the certificates, they exclude a day or two of the week, stuff like that (so read the fine print before you buy.)
My friend posted a promo code on her blog last night. The promo code to use until Tuesday is “napkin”. This code will get you 80% off.
I went onto the site this morning and saw they had Zambras. When we last went there, we spent roughly $70 for our dinner (and wine and appetizers….) And we were full for about two days. (Maybe I’m exaggerating a little.) It was pretty amazing, but we knew we couldn’t eat there for that price for a very long time. Until this morning.
I bought a $25 gift certificate for Zambras for only $2. So I bought two. We can use them from Sunday through Thursday, but can only use one. I figure if we forego the wine, and the appetizers, our meal will be about $20 (after the certificate.) Not a bad deal!
You must try this site. And use the promo code. You only have about $2 to lose!
