In case you haven’t noticed, my cat is the perfect spokes-cat for Halloween. Her coloring is PERFECT for October, and her colors are one of my favorite parts about her. (The fact that she seems to love me the most of all humans sometimes is also one of my favorite traits of hers.) With October being my favorite month and fall being undoubtedly the best part of year, it’s time that Chloe gets a little extra love around here. 

Chloe is a household favorite. She is truly living the high life in our house, and we’re fortunate that she continues to let us stay here. Needless to say, we still try to show her love whenever possible. One way I do this is through feeding her quality food like Purina® Muse®. 

Chloe can be pretty particular about the food she eats. I actually add wet food to her dry food twice a day, and she now finds me if I’m late in getting the wet food to her. When we adopted Chloe almost 8 years ago, we agreed that she would be an indoor cat. (This was part of our adoption agreement – the group we adopted her from doesn’t love for cats to roam free in the wild outdoors.) Chloe was found in a dumpster and wasn’t too keen on this agreement, but we stuck with it. My husband often feels bad for her as she looks longingly out some of our windows – or when she escapes the house through our back door with the help of a distracted adult. Seeing how fall is our favorite season, we want Chloe to also enjoy it. It’s no fun sitting on our back porch, watching and listening to her meow out at us through the door. 

Here are just a few ways to enjoy fall with your cat:

1. Train your cat to walk on a leash. Chloe was an adult cat when we adopted her, and cats clearly have minds of their own. She wasn’t a huge fan of the leash at first (I remember I would put the leash on her, and she would collapse on the floor.) Over time (a few weeks), she got used to it and now she gets so excited when I open the hall closet and reach for her leash. We stay in our yard, and she enjoys chewing on grass, and laying in the leaves watching everything around her.

2. Photo opps! This one is more for my enjoyment than my cat’s. Chloe is the perfect coloring for Halloween, and costumes are so fun to put on her. It’s been a few years since I bought a new cat costume, but this pumpkin costume from Petco was perfect for Chloe’s latest picture! 

3. Make sure your cat is eating well. A healthy cat is a happy cat. We take our cat to the vet regularly  and given her age, we don’t want her to lose weight. We don’t give her a set amount of food each day (she has access 24 hours a day), but I am aware of her eating habits, and when she may not be eating as much as normal.
