Entertaining with 7UP
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dr Pepper Snapple Group for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
We are in the throes of party season. My husband and I have been on the receiving end of multiple party invites each weekend this month. A year ago we were planning a joint Christmas-graduation party for my husband and juggling multiple invites. It’s just an exhausting time.
This year we aren’t planning an official holiday party, but we do like to entertain our friends (especially our neighbors) in our home around the holidays.
I love decorating this time of year, but I don’t have time to go from store to store looking for everything I need. Luckily, Safeway has everything in one spot – and I can pick up my food and beverages – as well as any decorations or other supplies I may need – at one time.
I’m fortunate that we usually keep certain sodas on hand, such as 7UP.

This year, I’ve been introduced to Blueberry Vodka. In fact, a friend gifted a bottle to me for my birthday. (I have really amazing friends.) I’ve been trying to figure out just what to mix it with and I finally figured it out.
7UP. And lime juice, if you want even more of a lime flavor. The blueberry vodka has enough flavor that you can taste the blueberry, while the 7UP is 100% natural flavors. I love that it’s also caffeine-free, so I don’t have to be worried about being wide awake at 3 a.m. Oh, and in this instance, I didn’t have lime juice, and my drink tasted great. All it called for was:
1 glass of 7UP
1.5 ounces of flavored vodka
A few ice cubes and a cute glass.
My friends and I tend to do heavy hors d’oeuvres when we get together brings a dish – something they’ve made or are able to pick up at the grocery store. And we love dips. (I’ve found that by this point in the month, cookies are not super popular. I guess everyone is over the sugar?) Either way, if you’re close to a Safeway, you can get your 7UP, snacks and many of the supplies you need (go with decorative paper plates. Your dishwasher will thank me later.)
And this drink is easy enough to make on the fly – no blending or prepping really needed. If alcohol isn’t your thing, you could add a bit of a flavored drink (we have a sugar free fruit punch, usually already made in our refrigerator. 7UP mixed with fruit punch would be divine….and fancy.)

I don’t drink but hubby does. I wonder if I make this for him if he’ll thank me. š
Oh my goodness! This sounds so good! I’ll have to wait to try it since I’m pregnant, but I’m bookmarking it for later! I love blueberry anything! Thanks for sharing! š
I love that drink. Sometimes you really do need something you can whip up quick and this is perfect.
My husband loves those drink mix combos! I need to remind him of that yummy cherry flavor!
I used to add 7up and ginger ale to a punch I used to make back when we all had get togethers. Now none of us drink anymore–but adding 7up to fruit punch sounds good to me–or maybe adding it to cranberry juice cocktail!
First I had no idea snapple was under this group š
But besides that, some of my favorite “old” drinks for parties include 7 up – We use it with shorbet all the time!
YUM! DIet Cherry 7up was my go-to for the longest time. It has such a sparkling flavor.
I drink on occasion and this drink looks refreshing and something I would like!
Ah, you said dip. I’ve been wanting a good dip going on two days now. I went into town tonight and forgot to get some!!!
I have never tried blueberry vodka. However whipped vodka is the bomb.
love cherry 7up with gin
