ever have those days?

Have you ever had those days where you do a LOT but you really didn’t do anything?

That was today.

It was pretty gray and blah out. Jason and I went running this morning, where I took him on the outskirts of Asheville’s downside (near the railroad tracks.) Not the prettiest run, but maybe he should have chosen the 6-mile route through the Grove Park area, rather than the 4-mile route which is flat and ugly.

The boy is fast! Actually, I think it’s his long legs that help him. I’m short and it was taking everything in me to keep up with him and try to look cool. He signed up for a 10k race this Saturday – I think it’s his first 10k race – so we wanted to get at least one decent run in before the weekend.

After running, we went to lunch at Chili’s and then ran errands. Pet store for cat stuff (and after debating with the store clerk and other random people who said, “good luck with that,” when I told them about clipping the cat’s claws, I think I’m going to leave Chloe’s nails long and sharp. I’ll take the clippers back this weekend.) We also went to Target, Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods in search of long-sleeved t-shirts. No luck. Online shopping, here we come!

I promised my family photos of my brother, but we honestly don’t have any since we picked him up (except the ones of him at the sushi restaurant, and he hasn’t sent them to me yet.) I’m working on pictures. Promise.

We’re going to the Biltmore Estate on Friday. The race on Saturday and some relaxing time on Sunday. Jason and my mom head to DC on Monday for four days and then he flies out next Saturday morning (day before Easter.) I can’t believe that his leave is going by this quickly!

I head back to work tomorrow morning (had today off.) I’m not looking forward to it. I wish every day could be a personal day.

  1. Hi Jaime & Jason: Sounds like you are having a good time…Jason: You should have a box waiting for you when you return to IRAQ. Grandma & I put one together and mailed it. Have a wonderful time with your Mom in D.c. Love, Aunt Linda

  2. You can clip Chole’s nails with a regular nail clipper. We use one for the toes where the cutter is on the side. Push in on their paws so it pushes out the nails and just snip a little bit off the end so it is flat instead of pointy. You may have to do it once a week. We do it before we give them baths and any time Mark wants to rough up Spooky so he will attack with out drawing blood. Maxwell tries to fight you, but Spooky has had it done since we got him and will sit still and calm while you do it. I have even cut Mercede’s nails before bathing her. You can also take a finger nail file and just run it across the tip to flatten it out also. The clippers are faster but if you are afraid of cutting to deep the nail file will work. But it only lasts for a few days, they will sharpen them right back up.
