And the parade. Hawaii has a state holiday to honor this prince – someone whose name I can’t pronounce. It was the Friday we were there (March 26) and the parade was March 27.
The parade was to honor this prince:
The Royal Hawaiian Band:
I believe this is the group that doesn’t like that Hawaii is part of the United States and thinks that the U.S. should release Hawaii from it’s grip, and let it be it’s own territory.
The Navy Band:
My brother and his band (you have to squint to see them, but they’re back there.)
The Army Band….a fine looking group:
We left shortly after seeing the Army Band, and did a little bit of shopping before hitting up Jimmy Buffett’s restaurant. On our way back to the resort, we came upon a newspaper man. My newspaper friends will get a kick out of this – I finally know what to do with my newspapers after reading them!
The next set of photos are from our snorkeling trip, I think. Those are pretty awesome.
