everybody loves a good parade

And the parade. Hawaii has a state holiday to honor this prince – someone whose name I can’t pronounce. It was the Friday we were there (March 26) and the parade was March 27.

The parade was to honor this prince:

The Royal Hawaiian Band:

I believe this is the group that doesn’t like that Hawaii is part of the United States and thinks that the U.S. should release Hawaii from it’s grip, and let it be it’s own territory.

We left shortly after seeing the Army Band, and did a little bit of shopping before hitting up Jimmy Buffett’s restaurant. On our way back to the resort, we came upon a newspaper man. My newspaper friends will get a kick out of this – I finally know what to do with my newspapers after reading them!

The next set of photos are from our snorkeling trip, I think. Those are pretty awesome.

  1. The news paper man was very nice to us. We like him. Now the guy painted up in gold, was not so nice. Liked the Austrialian one man band. He was very cool. I thought that was only in a cartoon.
