Surprisingly, today wasn’t bad. I was preparing myself for the worst, after a week of being off and unable to connect with my work people.
I had a bad feeling at 8:30 when I realized my keys were in my husband’s car – and that was not in our driveway. Not a good feeling. So I called him, and we were both pretty sure he was going to be home before me. (We each have spare car keys, but not spare house keys. Must change that this week.)
I had 669 unread emails. I’m so thankful I deleted over 2000 emails in my inbox before I was out for a week. I had every one of those emails read and/or deleted by 9:30 a.m. Score!
My boss is out this week, which means she left me with the to do list to end all lists. I managed to knock most of that out today as well. (See how well I do with lists and deadlines??)
The rest of my day was fairly smooth, with the exception of a few (always) frustrating people. I even mentored today and that went well. If you’re close to me and I talk to you on a regular basis, you know that mentoring is not always easy for me.
The first day back is always the hardest for me. I hope after today it means I’m going to have a breeze of a week.
