My husband is an avid consumer of fish oil capsules. I haven’t been quite as on board as he has, but I’ll admit I will take fish oil every now and then. I know there are benefits, but to be brutally honest, I don’t always love the taste or after taste. I was recently asked to try out Kids Smart High DHA Fish Oil Chewable Burstlets and not only do they taste better, but they’re really fun for little hands, thanks to their fish shapes!
Why would you try fish oil for your child? (By the way, these aren’t recommended for kids under age 3.) Well, fish oil can maintain and support:
- healthy brain function
- eye health
- nervous system health
When I was looking into it, I found that kids who have ADHD could benefit from the Omega-3 Fish Oil nutrients DHA and EPA. As a parent who is into exploring more natural remedies first, I found this the most interesting. (And of course I think you should discuss things with your doctor – or your child’s doctor – when trying new supplements with kids.)
The Kids Smart Chewables are shaped like fish, have a berry flavor, and can either be eaten as a chewable or even mixed into food. (The tails can be popped off, and the liquid added to a meal to hide any flavor.)
