Time flies when you’re having fun. We’ve been home from our Lake Waccamaw/Jacksonville trip for almost a month and I think I’ve only posted once about the trip (the zoo.) Well, let me tell you about the aquarium we went to.

I’ve been to the Fort Fisher aquarium a couple of times now and knowing that Lucas loves animals/sea life, we knew we needed to take him when we were in Lake Waccamaw. He did pretty well in his stroller for most of the visit. There were birds that were just walking around and the turtles weren’t caged (they were just in areas they couldn’t get out, but you could be really close to them.

Clearly we’re 12.

One of the coolest animals (reptile, whatever) was the albino alligator.

We ended up eating lunch while we were there, and they had a little play area beside the dining area. Lucas didn’t really want to bother too much with eating. He really wanted to play.

When we left the aquarium, we decided to stop at the beach which was right next to the aquarium. It turned out that this was the only sunny day that we were in Lake Waccamaw, so I’m really glad we stopped at the beach when we did.

Lucas LOVED jumping in the waves with his aunt Heather! The waves were so strong and we were getting pushed over so easily. It ended up being a bit (lot) scary.

We only stayed there for about 45 minutes and then we hit the road home. (He ended up napping in the car – twice that day! Water, for the win!)
