Fri-YAY! Olympics, sickness, and playing outdoors – and the week of Mondays!

This week has been the craziest time at work, and I’ve felt like I’ve been living Monday over and over and over….until Thursday when I didn’t realize it was really Thursday. Thankfully it’s Friday, and I am only working half the day so I can get a few hours of downtime (time to clean since I have family arriving in town this afternoon!)

I’ve been LOVING the Olympics the past week or so! Granted, I haven’t watched a lot of the events, but it’s been fun to be able to watch various sports with my 6-year-old. And having him request to watch the Olympics in the evening? Well, I don’t know what we’re going to do next week.

It’s been in the upper 70s here! In fact, my house got warm enough that I wanted to turn on the air conditioner for a few hours…only our unit won’t turn on. So a call is being made today to set up servicing and figure out what. is. up? This is not the first time we’ve had issues with our unit, and I hope it’s nothing major.

I’ve mentioned this before, but parents…if you have a feeling about something relating to your child, TRUST YOUR FEELINGS. On Wednesday, my son wasn’t quite himself. His throat hurt, but I thought that maybe the weather changes were causing the problem. By Wednesday evening, his ears were bothering him, but he didn’t have a fever. My husband took him to the doctor on Thursday and sure enough, he has an ear infection. Hoping that a round of antibiotics kicks it and he’s good as new this weekend.

Because of the weather, we’ve been able to enjoy a lot of time outside after school and work this week! We’ve re-introduced the swing to our daughter and she LOVES it. It’s like the swing is her happy place and I love watching her excitement.

If you have young children, how in the world do you keep your dining room floors clean? My daughter throws everything in the floor. Food accumulates under the table at a crazy rate, and I vacuum often. But howwwww do I get her to stop? What am I missing?

And now….the weekend. My dad and stepmom are in town, my son has basketball (he’s feeling SO much better compared to Wednesday and Thursday), and we have plans to visit Biltmore. I also have a few blog things I need to work on. Here’s hoping for a relaxing, yet productive, weekend!

Did you have a week of Mondays? This is not the first week I’ve had that’s just been BLECH, but I’m hopeful things will get better soon!
