Friday Five – the Indy edition
I’m going to link up with Emmy Mom again this week for Friday 5. It’s been an interesting week.
1. I’ve been in Indianapolis since Tuesday. It’s been a fun trip, but I’m so ready to be home. I’ve been here (I’m technically traveling today) for a conference all for people new to the alumni relations field. I’ve really enjoyed meeting other people in similar positions to mine, but I am a little tired of talking about my job all the time. (I think this happens in general at conferences.)
2. I FaceTimed with my husband and son a couple of times this week. My toddler was a little thrown off by FaceTime. The first time he ran through the house looking for me. The second time, he wanted to put the phone (or, rather, put “mommy”) in a box. #FaceTimeFail
3. I went running twice this week! That’s a new recent record for me! I thoroughly enjoyed Tuesday’s run when I first landed in Indy. I did a treadmill run on Wednesday. Blech.
4. I’m runningΒ race this weekend with Bari! It’s a 10k. And then I’m going to plan out my training for April and May so I can be somewhat prepared for Downhill at Dawn in June.
5. My boarding passes for my flights today will hopefully be all done electronically. I’ve never solely relied on my phone for things such as airline boarding passes. Fingers crossed it works!
Now for photos…..
God luck in your race and I hope you have a great rest of your time in Indianapolis. My kids were always thrown off by Facetime when they were little, too LOL.
beautiful photos. And good luck to your 10k race – you will be great
I’ve never been to Indy. Looks like a great place in your photos.
Good luck with your race!!!
Oh how I miss Indiana! I hope you enjoy yourself!
Okay try again- not sure my first comment made it,… anyway. I love love the picture of your son reading, so sweet! I am not a fan of FaceTime of Skype as anytime we try and do it with the grandparents the kids go crazy and just start acting out of control and can’t just sit and have a normal conversation. Don’t know why but just makes me crazy.
Hope you have a safe flight home.
Good luck on your race! The last 10k I ran almost killed me, haha.
Great pics! Good luck with your race!
That’s so great that you are keeping up with your running. I am seriously slacking! Good luck with the 10K!!
Yay for running! I have a 5K coming up soon I really need to get prepared for! Have a great weekend!
Great pictures, kitties and babies are the best! Hats off to you on your 10k race, that’s fantastic.
What a fun link up idea! It sounds like you’ve had quite the interesting week! Good luck with your electronic boarding ordeal, hope that goes smoothly! There is nothing like being back at home π
We FaceTime with my mom and sister a lot, and I remember when my 3 year old didn’t really get that they were “in the phone” and not at our house! Good luck with your race — I just finished my first 5K last weekend and cannot wait to do the next one mid-May!!
Thanks for sharing your photos – they are just beautiful! Good luck with your race – be sure to let us know how it goes!
Love the photos! The first time I face timed with my son while on a trip, he ran around looking for me too! Good luck on the race!
I’ve always wondered how people run when traveling. How do you know how to get back to your hotel?
Your photos are so beautiful. Wow, a 10k! That’s awesome, I couldn’t do it. Good luck at your race! π
Congrats on running TWICE! I can’t even get up to do it once. Dang.
I’d love to run a 10K someday (even though I am totally not a “real” runner). lol Good luck in your race!
Hey friend! I’ve never been to Indianapolis; I hope you’re having a decent time there. I’ve been thinking of doing the Downhill at Dawn. I want to talk to you about it first, though. Enjoy your flight home, and enjoy those boys when you finally arrive!
Sounds like you had a great week.
I love to travel, but so difficult to be away from home.
Great photos. (The reading picture is precious.) Good luck in your race – I’m sure you’ll do great!
Good luck with this, and in preparing for Downhill at Dawn. I think running is so very therapeutic, but I only do it at home on my treadmill, which I realize is totally not the same thing. π
what an exciting week! Good luck on your race.
Best of luck to you! I’m not up for a race just yet but hopefully one day. Sounds like your week is going to be fun!
Wow, you’re a busy lady! Glad you’re finding time to exercise and focus on you!
On any trip, I’m always ready to be home at the end! I love FaceTiming with my youngest niece, though sometimes she tries to eat the phone!
Sounds like a busy but good week. I can picture a toddler on FaceTime- too cute! Good luck with the race!
I’m not a good traveler….I always miss being home and with my family. Enjoy your race!
Hope you had a great race weekend!! and a great time in Indy!
Sleepy kitty. Cute photos. Wishing you well with your upcoming race.
Running is very exciting especially when you can see how your hard work is paying off. π Itβs truly an amazing experience to run for fun runs, events and contests. π
When I went on a business trip last year my 2-year-old (at the time) did the exact same thing! I was on Skype and he went looking for me and calling my name up the stairs thinking I was there!
good luck with your race and training. my kids never want to skype with me LOL
That’s awesome that you were running! I cannot get myself to do so very often, but when I do, I feel accomplished.
