Friday, oh wonderful Friday
It’s raining outside. It’s been raining a lot this week, and right now I’m welcoming it with open arms. It prevents me from feeling like I need to get out in the yard and work. Or that I need to do something else. Rainy days make me feel like I can stay in and hibernate a little. Enjoy the downtime.
And our house needs downtime. The baby had a cold part of last week (cold/teething), which led to the husband getting a cold earlier this week, which leads us to now. The baby is healthy, the husband is still fighting the cold and I now have it. We so need a rainy weekend, but I think the sun is supposed to come out tomorrow.
Let me just admit that this has not been the easiest week. I came back to work on Monday to find that my computer would not boot up. I finally got a new-to-me computer on Wednesday afternoon, but it was a stressful start to the week. (Also, I almost lost all of my passwords – my lifeline, really – but most were saved late Wednesday. Yay for the computer expert that rescued my files!)
I haven’t exercised this week, with the exception of maybe 2 walks? It’s been hard.
Now it’s Friday, and that’s awesome. We need this weekend. The cat even needs this weekend. She needs attention from us and hopefully we’ll all get naps. Oh, while we were on vacation, the baby napped twice every day. Sometimes the naps were an hour long. Occasionally, they were longer. This week? We’re lucky if he gets one nap. Part of it is his fault (he loves to explore, doesn’t like to sit still for a minute), but part of it is the fault of day care. Nobody forces him to nap, and that frustrates me.
So we’ll all be getting naps this weekend. The baby, the husband, me and the cat. I’m going to make sure of it.
What do you have in store for the weekend?Ā
ooh – a nap sounds great! other than a bike ride tomorrow i’ve got nothing planned, so hopefully i can squeeze a nap in too.
