Next month we’re embarking on a pretty long road trip for our family of four, even crossing over into Canada at one point. The more I think about it, the more I realize that it sounds like a really crazy idea. I mean, riding in a car with two kids ages 2 and 6 for days at a time? What could go wrong? We’ve made the long drive before (last summer, in fact), and I’ve already started prepping the car for this journey!

If you have young ones, you understand the amount of food and drink that piles up in the back seat. I’ve been making a real effort of clearing out car seats, under seats and the floorboards. But some things still leave behind a scent, which I’m fighting with Refresh Your Car® Vent Sticks!

These air fresheners attach to your car’s vents – so nothing to hang on your rearview mirror! I have four vents along my dash and put a vent stick on each one. They last between 30 and 45 days. And honestly, I’ll probably just use two of the Vent Sticks next time. You can store extras as long they’re sealed.

Refresh Your Car® also carries Mini Diffusers which can last up to 90 days! You can place them in various parts of your car, without having to block the flow of air from your vents.

Both come in a wide range of scents. I really like the dual scents (I currently have Fresh Strawberry and Cool Lemonade in my car.) You can get fragrances such as leather and new car or something in the citrus or floral areas. There are so many to choose from!

You can find Refresh Your Car® Vent Sticks and Mini Diffusers at retailers like Target and Walmart. (Just search here for a store location near you!)

I mentioned that I’m already prepping my car for summer. Here are just a few things I’m doing:

Vacuum more regularly. Between food and dirt from all of our shoes, the floor (and seats) of my car get dirty quickly.

Place a bin in the back seat for your kids toys and entertainment. I keep a bin for each child when we travel, but when we’re not traveling it’s nice to keep something in the back seat to collect all of the junk they bring with them. And then I can empty it periodically!

Pull any seat covers/mats out and wipe them down. Similar to the floor board, the seat covers under my kids car seats are pretty gross. They need to be wiped down often (and sometimes washed in the washer because kids are dirty!)

Keep a kit in your car to help with messes – napkins, wipes, first aid items. I have a bag in my trunk that I check periodically to make sure we’re prepared.

Keep things smelling fresh with Refresh Your Car® Vent Sticks and Mini Diffusers. These come in a wide variety of fragrances. They even have a plugin that has a USB port!

What scent would you want in your car?
