getting back on the fit wagon (again and again and…)
It’s that time of year again – the time right before we overindulge in amazing food and then vow to go on a diet on January 1. And if you’ve been following me for a while, you may have noticed that I have spent little time blogging about running (or other healthy ventures).
That’s because I’ve all but given up on running. Sure, I run a couple of miles here and there, but this time last year, I was training for my second full marathon of the year, and had already completed 3 half marathons – and several other races. This year? I’ve done a half marathon and three other small races (10k, 15k and a four-miler). It’s basically nothing compared to what I ran in 2009.
So when the Sisterhood of the Shrinking Jeans proposed a new challenge – the Holiday Hoedown – I knew I wanted to get involved.
I don’t necessarily want to lose weight (although, that wouldn’t suck.) I do, however, want to maintain a healthier diet and get back into regular exercise. I want to run on a more consistent basis and still do other workouts. (My husband is a fan of p90x and I’ve worked out with him a few times – he loves it when we can work out together.)
Our two-person household began eliminating processed food and sugar from the house a few weeks ago. Our efforts were thwarted when family came to visit, and it became a challenge to keep up with, but we’re getting back on track. And now I have a team – the Tinsel Vixens – who are going to help keep me on the straight and narrow.
I love it. I have a plan, and I have people who can help keep me accountable. It’s going to be fabulous.
And you get to read all about it, if you choose. š
So glad you have decided to join in this challenge! Getting into healthy habits of exercise and eating good food will help you have the kind of life you want!
Yay for living healthier!! Glad you are joining The Sisterhood and the Tinsel Vixens (even though the Healthy Holiday Hos are pretty much the awesomest team evah! š
