Monday is always good for new music (and let’s face it. I’ve been listening to a lot of great – new! – music lately.) Mary J Blige has an album coming out on December 2 and it is officially on my iPod rotation.
The album is strong and many of the songs have a beat I can run to or zone out to when working out. (That’s big for me.) It’s not too slow for me, and Mary J Blige has such a strong voice!
It’s been a few years since Blige has released an album, and this one will not disappoint long-time fans. I honestly hadn’t realized that this is her 13th studio album. She collaborated with artists such as Sam Smith, Disclosure, Emeli Sandé and made this album during her month-long stay in London. (What an inspiration that must have been!)
The result is something powerful and meaningful and full of emotion. I know of several folks who will love receiving this album for Christmas.
I participated in the Mary J Blige The London Sessions album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided a free album to review but all opinions are my own.
