good morning :)
It’s been a good morning, so far. Kenny had to go to WCU today (leading another workshop), so I’m on my own.
First, I tried to bake a cake. Tried is the key word here. I bought one of the silicon pull-apart cake pans (it’s a dinosaur, and it was on clearance) and thought I’d try one. I bought the clearanced one because I didn’t want to spend a ton of money for something I couldn’t get the hang of.
Well, I haven’t gotten the hang of this one yet. I put too much batter in the pan, and there is now a lot of cake covering the bottom of our oven. Oops. Lucky for me, I had a baking sheet under the cake pan, but it still spilled over. I might try again later today, but I have other things to do…
…Such as Mars Hill College Homecoming! Jason is home, and we’re heading up to MHC at lunchtime. Yay! Not sure if my mom will go with us, but it’s a possibility. It’s a beautiful day – sunny, cool, highs expected around 72 degrees. Perfect. And the leaves are changing up there. Fun stuff. A year ago I was up there checking out the location to make sure I had everything ready for our wedding. Now I get to hang out without stressing about details.
Tonight is the continuation of my birthday celebrations. Lots of friends coming by and it should be a good time.
