Half marathon training – an update
I’m running a half marathon in just over two weeks. Can you believe it? Because I can’t.
This week is the first week that I’ve made more time to exercise. I had to stop doing that whole run once a week thing to train for a half marathon. It takes more than one run a week to be prepared.
My longest run so far has been 8 miles. Tomorrow I am running 9 (and next Saturday, I’ll run 10. The half is on April 1.) I felt pretty decent after the 8 miles, and I’m hoping I’ll feel great tomorrow. I mean, I’ve exercised four days this week. That has to count for something!
I have no real goals for this race, except to finish.
I’ve started thinking about my next half marathon(s). I may actually attempt the Asheville half again. It’s so tough. I’m on the fence, though, since I’d have to really train during the summer. That’s going to be harder than the actual race.
Guess I should really just focus on finishing in two weeks! And finish without injuring myself. I’ll keep you posted.
Good luck! I think finishing is a good goal to have. š
We will get thru that half together!
