Happy Mother’s Day to all of my friends/family who are moms, soon-to-be moms and/or friends who are still waiting for the day they will become a mom.

We’ve had a good day at our house. It involved handmade cards from the kiddo (in which my husband did most of the work) and time to myself to get things accomplished. I can’t tell you how much gardening I was able to squeeze into the one hour they were out grocery shopping.

Of course, the day also involved a lot of playing outside, a neighborhood walk and more playing outside. We have to soak up all of the sun when we can!

I’m so thankful for this little guy.

I hope you had a special day.

Hope you’ve had a wonderful day celebrating the moms in your life.

I’ve spent my day with this guy. The little guy who made me a mom 8.5 months ago.

The weather was pretty miserable, so we didn’t get a lot of fun, bright photos outside. But we made the most of our day.

By the way, a year ago I was 25 weeks pregnant, and I wore the same dress. You can see the photo here. I love that dress (my mom made it – it made her look pregnant, which is how I ended up with it.)

I hope everyone enjoyed Mother’s Day today. My day was somewhat low-key (what with the oak trees outside my windows KILLING ME with their pollen.)

A couple of months ago, before we knew McLittle’s gender, I contacted Melanie about creating an ornament that we could give our mothers on Mother’s Day. As soon as I knew we were having a boy, I sent her an email, and the order was placed….just in time, too, because her shop is currently closed while she and her family are on a fun-filled vacation.

I absolutely LOVE how the ornaments turned out! Once we figure out a name (and tell everyone – probably after he’s born), we’ll write his name and the year on the back.

Last night, in pure Jaime procrastination fashion, I made two cards for my mom and grandma. And I realized as I was typing this that I didn’t take a picture of them. Trust me when I say they were cute.

Today I attended church with my mom and grandma, wearing a dress that my mom made. (She made it for herself, but when she realized it made her look pregnant, she passed it along to me. SCORE! Oh, and a photo will have to come later this week, as they’re on my mom’s camera.)

We went to lunch after church (along with one of my aunts) and the rest of the afternoon was spent in the yard and doing a few things around the house.

I should also note that I’m on my own for a few days while Kenny’s away at a work conference in Florida. That’s the only reason this day didn’t involve him.

The day was pretty calm, except for a few things that happened this evening (which I don’t want to remember in a year, so I’m not going to include in this post.) I hope your Mother’s Day was just as fantastic!
