Happy National Running Day! #fitfluential #sweatpink
It’s one of my favorite days! National Running Day. (It’s a thing. I promise.)
This national (holi)day began in 2009 as a way for runners to declare their passion for running – and what runner doesn’t love an excuse for a run?
I’ve run 5 full marathons and 12 half marathons. I’ll be running my 13th half marathon this weekend. I have no idea how many 5ks I’ve run in my lifetime. I started running in middle school and was part of cross country and track teams throughout middle and high school, as well as college. I stopped running my senior year of college, but started again soon after graduating and managed to lose my senior 15. (I was the opposite of most students. I didn’t gain the Freshman 15. I gained weight my senior year!)
Today my goal is to get 3-4 miles in. Easy pace since I have a race on Saturday. I’m still undecided as to whether I’ll run it outside or on a treadmill.
Do you run? Do you walk for fitness? (Walking is also great exercise!) Are you celebrating National Running Day?
I walk my kids to and from school daily, which is about 2 miles and I aim for 10K steps a day. My hubby is a runner and I really am trying to like it–the Couch To 5K app is helping a TON!
Thank you for the inspiring info! I have no excuses today!
Me and running don’t mix lol. I am more of a dance/zumba kind of gal. I admire those who have the strength and endurance to get out there and run every day though!
Happy Running Day!!!! Running is one of my great joys life š
I usually walk. I’m not a fan of running due to my back issues but when I did, I would run at least 5miles a day.
Unfortunately. I don’t have a regime. We need to do more family walking.
