Happy New Year!! We spent last night with friends – dinner with two of our very good friends and then a small New Year’s Eve party with one of my friends. We managed to get home around 11:45, so we could actually ring in the new year at home. A nice evening was had by all.
Last year, I made a resolution to take more pictures. I think I succeeded mainly because of the “you capture” posts and the “show us your life” series hosted on Kelly’s blog. My goal this year is to keep up with that.
I’ve been thinking long and hard about my resolutions for 2010…here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
*Limit my computer time at home. I’m on the computer all day at work, and I need to scale back. I’m going to buy a timer today to start on this one.
*Be healthier. Not necessarily lose weight – though that would be nice – but overall, just be healthier. I’ve started already by using my new food dehydrator. I’ll buy less junk food and I’m hoping to keep dried fruit on hand for snacks. (We started this Sunday and so far, it’s been awesome!)
*Save more money. I did a decent job of this last year, but I really want to save even more this year. I think the easiest area for me to cut down on is our grocery bill. Or, food in general. I’ll have to get creative, and really use the coupons I cut every week, but I think I can do it. The money I save will end up in a separate account, I think, and I may even blog about my cost-cutting adventures!
One of my goals is to travel to Hawaii this year. It would be awesome if I could make that happen. I haven’t planned any trips or even races at this point, so money I save not traveling (to places like Nashville) might help with my longer-term goal of Hawaii!
So…have you made any resolutions? Have you already broken them?
Those goals sound attainable. Please do blog about your cost cutting tips. I am not making any resolutions this year. 2009 was a pretty bad year and 2010 isn’t looking too good either. At the rate I am going, I am probably going to end up in divorce court before the year is out.
Aw, Steph…I hope 2010 turns out way better than it apparently started for you. Call me sometime…
