hiking Diamond Head

On our second day in Hawaii, we made plans to hike Diamond Head. We started our trek around 9:25 (I remember looking at my watch because I wanted to see how close the guide book was in the time it would take for us to get to the top.) We actually got to the top in less than 30 minutes, spent some time up there taking pictures and made our way back down. Round trip was under 2 hours.

What I found funny/ironic about this place was the area where protesters were allowed to congregate. I think they need an area for protesting in Asheville, so protesters will stay out of my way.

This was taken from the bottom. See the people (the ant-looking portion in the photo) along the ridge? That’s where we were walking to.

Karen and Tammy in the protesters area. They saw the stairs before the 99 steps going up and turned back around. I think they were protesting steps at this point.

Proof I was at the sign, down at the base of Diamond Head.
