{Quick} holiday ornaments for kids to make #YahooDIY
I’m in disbelief that Christmas is a few days away. We JUST started our cookie baking and all I want to do is curl up on the couch and watch movies. But, wait. I have a 3-year-old who is not going to let that happen.
I’m off work for a couple of weeks and the boy will not be in daycare as much. I want to keep him busy, and he loves crafting with me. I looked at the YahooDIY! site to find some ideas for my boy and came across 10 Fun Holiday Crafts for Kids. It was exactly what I needed.
I decided we would work on ornaments this past weekend. What parent or grandparent doesn’t want to receive ornaments from kids? I have a pack of foam ornament “pieces.” What we have leftover will actually be used in my son’s daycare group this week.
Since the pieces are already cut out, I dabbed glue on the foam and he placed sequins on the glue. We also had glitter glue (oh, the glitter glue). There are even spots in the center where I can add photos. (Thanks to my Canon Selphy, I can take a pic and print it on the fly – and no, that is not a sponsored statement.)
In less than 30 minutes, we made 8 ornaments. My son had a blast.
My son wanted to keep going. He loves gluing and placing sequens all over the place and every ornament was different.
I have plans to use these as gift tags on some of our family gifts this week. I’m really pleased with how they turned out and can’t wait to try this with his daycare group!
What kinds of projects are you working on, or have you completed, this holiday season?
Thank you Yahoo! for sponsoring this post. While this was a sponsored opportunity from Yahoo!, all content and opinions expressed here are my own.

That looks like so much fun. Great activity.
I need to complete some more projects. We really didn’t do many this year but I hope to complete a few more over the next few days. I just got a Silhouette yesterday so I can’t wait to use it.
Well that’s a cute little guy, and an awesome ornament too. My favorite ornaments are the ones the kids made. š
We will be making cookies for Santa tomorrow. And at my oldest son’s holiday party, we made ornaments. I wish I had more time and money to do all that I would like to do with my kids.
So cute. Easy to do, too. We don’t have a lot of homemade ornaments but we do have a lot of Christmas crafts from years past.
That little snowflake ornament with his photo is just too cute! I bet he loved making those!
How fun! He is so adorable. When the boys were younger, making ornaments was one of our favorite things to do.
I love easy crafting ideas for the holidays. Now you have an adorable keepsake!
Your little guy is so adorable! I love crafting with my 4-year-old too but I’ve been so busy we haven’t been able to make ornaments this year.
That is so sweet. I hope next year my son is a little more interested in doing holiday crafts! š This year he was more interested in pulling the lights off the tree.
