(holiday, running) motivated Monday
I’m feeling especially motivated today. I think it’s the amount of sleep I got over the weekend.
That’s right. I got actual sleep. Like, the kind that was uninterrupted. I even got a (much-needed) nap on Saturday afternoon. But that sleep talk is all for a separate post. I need to make sure this isn’t a fluke and that we really have a solution to our sleeplessness.
I ran a lot this weekend. 10 miles. I ran with a friend (and her friend who is becoming a running friend of mine, so that’s fun.) I actually stopped at 9.6 miles, and went home. When I got home, realized I couldn’t just stop at 9.6, so I ran another 0.4 miles – just to make it an even 10.
I took a 2-hour nap on Saturday afternoon. I was so tired and we had a holiday party to attend Saturday night (after bedtime, so my mom’s babysitting gig was super easy as she didn’t have to do bedtime or anything!) It would have been the perfect nap, had the landscaping guys I talked to over the summer not rang my doorbell twice and banged on the door. Needless to say, once I got them to go away, I made the decision we will never, ever be using their services. Ever.
The husband and I went to a party Saturday night – kid free. And it was so fun. We were home by 10:30, and I went straight to bed, terrified of how many times I’d be up that night. (We all slept until after 6, so not as scary as it could have been.)
I managed to get some Christmas shopping done yesterday. I also worked on a sewing project for a Christmas present. We even decorated our tree. Our little tree is no longer just filled with lights and bows. It has real decorations (on the top half, at least.) Oh, and our Christmas cards are another step closer to being sent. Maybe tomorrow or Wednesday? I need to get them mailed as soon as possible.
I’ve been so holiday motivated this weekend. And after a night of real sleep, and a trip to the chiropractor, I’m running-motivated as well.
I really think that sleep has helped me to be motivated. Crazy, isn’t it? What motivates us?
What motivates you?
what in the world could have made them think banging on your door is an okay business practice? SMH
These guys have been relentless. I’m serious when I say this is about the fifth time they’ve shown up at my doorstep. I have their card. I can call if I need something.
So happy to be running with you again and getting to know Julie š
We can never have too many running friends! š
Running friends definitely help motivate!
My cards will hopefully go out in the next few days.
