How soon is too soon to listen to Christmas music? July? October? Now?

I tend to save my Christmas music listening for after Thanksgiving, but had to get a jump start on holiday albums before the big day of thanks, since it falls so late in November this year. I was offered a digital copy of Idina Menzel‘s holiday album from the One2One Network to listen to and offer my full review. (And for that, I’m truly thankful. I love Christmas music.)

IdinaMenzel

You may know Idina from her role on the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack. (True story: I haven’t seen the movie all the way through, and it would take me a minute to identify the song ‘Let It Go’. Don’t judge.)

What I do know is that she has a beautiful voice and her holiday album is flawless. It’s soothing enough to play in my office and put me (and my colleagues) in the holiday spirit. Which is great, because we have several office parties in the first few weeks of December and I WILL be playing this album on repeat.

I’ve been a big fan of the song “All I Want for Christmas is You” since hearing it on ‘Love Actually.’ (Who here isn’t a fan of that song? Or the movie?)

I seriously hope that Idina’s version of “All I Want For Christmas is You” receives radio play this holiday season – it definitely deserves it.

I’m also digging the duet with Michael Bublé on “Baby It’s Could Outside”. I’m convinced my mom will also love this version of the song. (She’s a huge Michael Bublé fan already.)

The track listing of the album:

Do You Hear What I Hear
The Christmas Song
Baby It’s Cold Outside (Duet with Michael Buble)
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
All I Want For Christmas
What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?
December Prayer
When You Wish Upon A Star
Silent Night
River
Holly Jolly Christmas
White Christmas

And if you buy the album at Target, you will also get “Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!”

After looking at the track listing, what song might be your favorite? (Were you an Idina Menzel fan when the ‘Frozen’ soundtrack was released?)

I participated in the Idina Menzel Holiday Wishes album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.

  1. Uh-they can keep Let it Snow–I don’t want to jinx it! Baby It’s Cold Outside is one of my favorites at this time of year. I have never heard of this singer nor heard her sing to my knowledge but from what you are saying she is really good and maybe I should take a listen one of these cold nights!

  2. This is reallllly weird. I JUST a second ago watched the Baby It’s Cold Outside video and set it to share on my FB page. And then I went to our group to look for some posts to share and here you are. Hmmn.

I’m intrigued because I love Idina. 😉 I might have to download a copy.

  3. I love Christmas music and have some in a playlist I listen to year round. I will have to check this album out as it has a lot of my favorites.

  4. From the time I was 15 until I was 26 I worked for the same retail company. While I learned a lot there moving my way through various positions, I have to say, it really ruined me for Christmas music and holiday shopping!

  5. Idina Menzel does have a wonderful voice I refuse to play Christmas Music around here until December. I have yet to get my house decorated for Christmas. Usually we decorate for Christmas on Thanksgiving weekend but I would love to hear her voice while decorating the tree with the family.

  6. I honestly never knew that Idina Menzel sang until Frozen came out but I totally fell in love with her voice then. I’ll have to pick this album up, especially since it’s for the holidays.
