a home improvement-type day

After lunch today, I got into home improvement mode. There will be pictures when everything is complete.

I’m still working on our bedroom. My brother gave us a shelf/frame set for Christmas, and I spent an hour trying to install the shelf (it kept leaning, and as soon as I set a frame on it, it fell.) We’ve finally got a frame on the shelf, and are keeping our fingers crossed that it won’t fall. I just ordered a few new photos because our old pictures don’t fit into one of the new frames (old ones were 5×7, new one holds 3 4×6 photos.)

Ordering those photos made me want to break out the rest of our pictures that have been boxed up for a year! If I can convince the husband to let me have at the hallway, I’ll be doing a photo wall sometime soon.

I found a bookcase on sale at Target that matches our bed. I’m hoping we can purchase it this week to replace the bookcase in the bedroom (I use a nightstand, but since my husband reads so much, he prefers a bookcase.) Then a nightstand needs to be found in the matching wood color, and our bedroom will be closer to complete! 

What will complete the room is a new ceiling fan and artwork/photos on two more walls. 

And finally, I think I’ll be finishing our throw pillows today. We went to the movies yesterday and I was asleep by 9:30 last night, so not much really was completed around the house. I ordered new fabric (from fabric.com – you can find promo codes and use ebates and save a TON of money) and the new fabric is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait! I am going to make a new bag and who knows what else??

Now I have to go get the pictures. I love that our bedroom is so close to being complete!
