home renovations, part whatever
Around lunchtime, we decided to change the light fixture in our bathroom. And then we realized we had to take the medicine cabinet down, in order to access the screws for the previous light fixture.
Our first trip to Lowes was to get a screw extractor, paint and an exacto knife. The only thing that came in handy was the paint. The screw still won’t come out, our medicine cabinet has been destroyed, and we can’t get some of the wallpaper (still) off the wall from where it remained when the previous house owners put up tile and a sink over it.
It’s 11:20 and we I just finished painting. It’s not a spectacular job, but it’ll do the trick. Tomorrow, we’ll be at Lowes searching for a medicine cabinet. And at 6:00, we have people coming over for our ‘Lost’ party.
I apparently work well under pressure. I seem to recall that last year, I tore down wallpaper and painted this same room about two days before my dad and stepmom visited. (I can’t find that blog post, but I did find this one showing you before pictures of our bathrooms.)
As soon as we can finish the room, I’ll post the finished product here.
Let’s just hope we can be ready for our party tomorrow night.
good job getting rid of that light fixture…1970 called and wanted it back.
