I’m not going to lie or hold back – candy corn is my jam. I love the actual candy and I love candy corn-themed items. It’s one of my favorite things about fall, which makes this craft one of my favorite crafts for fall. Does it get any better than felt candy corn ornaments?

With felt candy corn ornaments (or they could be a small plushie), you could string some together for a super cute banner, or maybe you have a Halloween tree you need to decorate? Just add a felt candy corn ornament. Maybe they could be a little decoration on a gift. Whatever the occasion, these felt candy corn ornaments will be a hit.

First, I’m going to need you to sign up to get the template sent to your email inbox. Then continue on for the instructions on making felt candy corn ornaments.

What You Need:

Let’s make a felt candy corn ornament:

Step 1: Select white, orange and yellow colored felt fabrics for the candy corn ornament craft. The template includes 2 base pieces, 1 bottom layer (yellow), 1 middle layer (orange), 2 arms and 2 legs (we’re using yellow for both arms and legs). Trace and cut out the patterns.

Step 2: Take the orange (middle) layer and trace the eyes and mouth of the candy corn plush on it. Use a black thread to stitch along the traced eyes and mouth-line.

Step 3: Take any one of the base cutouts and the yellow layer (bottom layer). Place the yellow layer on the bottom part of the base and thread your needle with yellow thread.

Step 4: Stitch the yellow layer along the bottom and both sides. You don’t need to stitch along the top side.

Step 5: Place the orange layer above the yellow layer, slightly overlapping the yellow layer along its top side.

Step 6: Stitch the orange layer on the base along all four sides.

Step 7: Take the other base cutout and place one arm cutout near the bottom part of the left side and place one leg cutout near the left of the bottom side.

Step 8: Place the stitched candy corn felt pattern on the top of the other base cutout, keeping the arm and leg cutouts between the two base layers.

Step 9: Stitch around the side to join the two base cutouts and secure the arm and leg cutouts with them as well. Then stitch the right arm and leg. Keep a small opening to stuff the felt candy corn. You can use scrap felt pieces or a small amount of polyfill stuffing.

Step 10: Once you’re done stuffing the candy corn, stitch the opening to secure the stuffing.

Step 11: Tie a knot or two and then cut off extra thread if necessary.

Step 12: Finally, cut out a small piece of ribbon and make a loop with it. Attach the open ends of the ribbon loop with the backside of the candy corn plush to complete the ornament.
