I always think about buying you flowers
True story. About two weeks ago, my husband told me, “I always think about buying flowers….and then I don’t.” If you know him, you’ll know that it’s funny. For Valentine’s Day, I get a potted plant (usually an orchid, and I’ve managed to keep one alive from February until May.) For our anniversary, there were no roses. For my birthday once I got daisies in those crazy blue/green/purple colors and the dye turned the water a gross color. But we’re more plant people. So this comment made me laugh, and I told him that it would be nice if he got me flowers once in a while.
Yesterday, he was at a teacher workshop and the teachers went to lunch at Neo Burrito. He had just told the women (there are very few male teachers, so he often lunches with women) the above story. At this burrito place, they were giving away sunflowers to customers. The ladies all gave him their flower to give to me. And I came home to this:
A bunch of sunflowers in my Team in Training water bottle.
I do love them. And it’s the thought that counts. I’ll show him next week where we keep the vases. Thanks teachers, for helping my husband out this week. š
