I definitely didn’t forget that today is Veteran’s Day. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my husband remembered to put our flag out when he woke up.
I watched the news this morning and they had a story on the 21-year-old soldier missing since last week in Afghanistan. They found his body. He left behind his wife who is 5-months-pregnant. I can’t watch the news anymore without crying. It’s crazy, since I work in the news business.
I saw this quote on someone’s blog, and then Googled it.
“In war, there are no unwounded soldiers.” –Jose Narosky
This is so true. Even if our soldiers haven’t been physically wounded, they come back broken – even if it’s just a little bit. Mentally I don’t know how they deal with the challenges of war.
Please thank a service man or woman today. My thoughts are with each and everyone one of them. (And with my brother who is lucky enough to be spending this Veteran’s Day in the United States.)
