I owe my home to Lowes

We’ve been to Lowes twice in the last week. And we’ve managed to drop some serious money at the store (I’m extremely grateful for the gift cards we received for Christmas!)

Our garden has been expanded to double it’s size from last year, and I keep having to buy dirt for it to fill up the boxes. We’ve bought new flowers and bulbs that still need to be planted (except the lavendar – the husband planted that while I mowed the lawn today.) And we’ve managed to pick up a few random things we needed, such as the extension cord for the weed eater.

I think we spent about 5 hours outside today. I’m beyond exhausted. But I can’t wait for summer, when we’re picking our vegetables.

Oh, and we did manage one big purchase – a new ceiling fan, to replace the one that has never worked in our bedroom. It’s hot in there, people.

On a non-home improvement note….I ran 5 miles this morning in my neighborhood. I never run that far in this neighborhood because it means I have to loop around a few cul-de-sacs. I decided to venture out of my neighborhood and discovered a decent running route…though it has an insane amount of hills. My final mileage was 5.23 and I ran it in 10-minute miles, which is good considering the amount of hills I ran. I think I have mentioned this before, but I’m running the Biltmore Classic 15k race next month. 9.3 miles. And I haven’t run more than 6 at one time since December (and the 6 miles was in January.)

It’s now 5:30 p.m., and I think I’m ready for bed!
