if only the craft stores could help me

After last night’s blog where I all but admitted defeat in making our Christmas cards, I got some more stamping done and felt that I was really close to having some pretty good looking cards to mail out. I even decided to make more cards, if only I had more midnight blue paper.

A few weeks ago, I bought all of the midnight blue paper I could find at AC Moore. I’ve been looking every time I go by their store, and have left empty-handed for almost six weeks.

Six weeks.

You’d think that AC Moore would have restocked by now.

I went by Michael’s at lunch to continue my search for midnight blue paper, and to get a roll of ribbon. (Spindle is what I should call it, I guess.) I spent 30 minutes in line waiting to buy my $1 worth of ribbon (stupid, stupid Michaels) and walked out with no blue paper.

I drove over to AC Moore again and there was no blue paper. I ended up buying two packs of colored paper that had the blue I needed. It’s not exactly what I wanted, and now I have 80 sheets of random colored cardstock that I don’t need, but I at least have blue paper. And I can make about 12 more cards.

The girl at AC Moore told me that the computer does all of their ordering. It sounds like to me that someone needs to type into the computer “send us more midnight blue paper.”

I’m having craft/card-making OCD and right now the craft stores aren’t being very helpful.
