What I’m loving: Christmas break!

Friday was my last day of work for a couple of weeks – more than two weeks! This is a much-needed (and much-loved!) break, and I’m forever grateful I work in higher ed where this time off is the norm.

Gone are the days that I worked Christmas Day (something I did for a few years when I worked at the newspaper!) I don’t even have to be on call. Now I will be checking email sporadically, but it’s nothing like my time at the paper.

So….things I’m loving right now.

Time with my girl. I have two weeks to enjoy this baby girl! Granted, my husband will be off starting later this week, and my son will be home from preschool. We’ll have family in town and then we’re traveling to see family, so it’s not like it’s just me and her, but the next couple of days are just the two of us.

Time to rest (even if *someone* was awake quite a bit last night!) I have come down with a cold and I was so thankful I didn’t have to rush into work this morning.

Our gym membership! I’m taking advantage of it this week – and the childcare!

Christmas cards. I have finally mailed our cards (so late for me!) and I’ve LOVED seeing my friends cards in our mailbox each day. So many photo cards are hanging on our dining room wall!

Christmas music! I’ve been listening to a lot of Pentatonix and Straight No Chaser (as well as classic Christmas music on the radio.) I love December.

Movies. I have several holiday movies I need to watch this week. Now that I’m through Gilmore Girls and Fuller House, I can move onto the tried and true movies.

What holiday movies are on your must-watch list this month?

  1. I have really been slacking in the holiday department this year. I have only baked one thing & it’s not really Christmas-y, I don’t get time off since the holiday is on the weekend, my shopping isn’t even all done yet. The only Christmas tv I have watched is Hallmark while I scrapped over the weekend. I hope to squeeze in some White Christmas soon though.
Merry Christmas to you & yours!!!
