Somehow, we managed to finish our bathroom this afternoon. Well, almost finished. We still have to caulk and paint the trim, but the big stuff is out of the way.
Well, we decided to switch out our light fixture (which unfortunately I can’t find a picture of – one of the bulbs hung out of it because the support was broken, and the mirrored back had paint on it.) Then we realized we had to take the mirror/medicine cabinet down in order to get the lights down. And then we were dealing with more wallpaper. And a broken medicine cabinet. And a screw that was stuck in the wall. We managed to get everything down and cut the screw out today (we’re now proud owners of a hacksaw!) I stayed up until midnight painting last night. We embraced the blue sink, painted the walls a really light blue/gray color. We then found a (cheap) cabinet at Lowes, which we also managed to install this afternoon. Oh, and the outlet covers were also switched out.
Pretty cool, right??
Total, we spent less than $200 on fixtures, tools, paint, everything. I totally felt like I was on an episode of ‘Trading Spaces’ minus the friendly neighbor, professional designer and the $1000 budget. We finished around 4:00 today and we have people coming over at 6 for our ‘Lost’ party.
I’m done with home improvement for a while!
