Went out last night. After a really horrendous week at work, I needed something fun to take my mind off the office people (even if I did spend the evening with several office people, at least they weren’t the ones making my life hell!) Headed downtown to meet up with Lena and Jordan. First stop. Cats and Dawgs. Jordan had never eaten there…poor guy.
We then headed over to the drum circle. While I’ve visited the drum circle in the past (as an onlooker), last night we wanted to see what all the fuss over the past week has been about. Condo owners have been complaining about the noise and want the drummers to move elsewhere. Well, I think the condo owners should move…the drummers were very fun. We ran into all sorts of other work people (again, co-workers who weren’t mean to me this week). Lena and I danced in the circle (with our chiropractor!) And, lots of photos were taken.
We left the circle and walked over to Marble Slab for ice cream, because it was wayyyyy hot last night! Again, just another Asheville thing to do. Then, passed through Downtown After 5 on our way to Hookah Joe’s. (Meanwhile, we passed street musicians. While street musicians aren’t all that uncommon in this town, do they always perform as bands on corners?)
And, of course, we ended the night at Hookah Joe’s. It’s definitely an experience.
I won’t have the real Asheville experience today – we’re cleaning the house and attending a wedding later this evening. You can do that anywhere.
