it’s almost Monday
It’s almost Monday again and I have to return to work. I’ve been furloughed for a week, and before that I was using vacation days. I’ve been away from my job for 11 days.
And it’s been awesome!
Sure, I spent more than 30 hours in a car in the course of 8 days, but I got to see lots of family (some of whom I haven’t seen in two years) and we got to do quite a bit of traveling, which is one of my favorite things to do ever. I also got to run a half marathon, which doesn’t always sound fun, but it’s pretty exciting for me.
I’ve almost finished reading Jane Green’s latest book, ‘Dune Road.’ (I started it on Thursday afternoon, as we were driving. I’ve been pretty slack about reading while on vacation.)
I’ve also managed to be extremely lazy and lounge around the house this weekend.
The best part of this week will be the fact that I only work 3 days. I’m taking Thursday off and we’re heading to Lake Waccamaw for the long weekend. Then I think we’re going to be home every weekend after that.
So, back to the real world, and back to work. I could almost use another furlough (I just won’t be too happy about that paycheck….but I guess it’s better than being laid-off, right?)
